Hi everyone, I work for a small business that needs a 12-seater minibus for about 6 months for a special project. We're based in Birmingham and looking for long-term rental options. Most rental companies I've found only offer daily or weekly rates, which would be extremely expensive over 6 months. Does anyone know of companies that specialize in long-term minibus rentals? What kind of monthly rate should I expect? And are there any specific terms or conditions I should be aware of for long-term rentals? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

For long-term rentals like that, you should look at leasing companies rather than standard rental firms. Companies like Northgate Vehicle Hire or Enterprise Flex-E-Rent specialize in business leases and offer much better rates for 6+ month terms. When I worked for a construction company, we leased a 12-seater for 12 months at around £600-700 per month, which included maintenance and breakdown cover. For 6 months, expect to pay a bit more, maybe £800-900 monthly.

Another option worth considering is a lease takeover. Some businesses lease vehicles and then need to get out of their contract early. There are websites where you can find these opportunities, and you might get a great deal on the remaining months of someone else's lease. Also, check with local minibus operators who might have vehicles sitting idle that they'd be happy to rent out long-term at a reasonable rate.
